Shivaratri: Memorial of God’s arrival

Shiva is God, the Benefactor.
He is a point of spiritual light, the Father of all souls.

He is the Almighty Authority who alone can put an end to all evil forces of

lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego that enslave us.

Ratri means night.
It symbolizes darkness –  the absence of virtues and wisdom in human beings

Upavasa means to be with God through our mind and intellect.

And thereby fast or abstain from indulging in vices (vishaya bhoga)
To properly understand and remember God.

Jagaran means to be always awake, alert and attentive...
that no vicious, waste or negative thoughts enter the mind and disconnect us from God.

Divine Message of Shivaratri
Supreme Father, God Shiva has descended in the human medium of Prajapita Brahma in this long dark night of ignorance. One can attain purity, peace and happiness by being soul conscious and lovingly remembering God.
